The Department of Health and Social Services has received reports that Alaskans are receiving an automated call claiming to be from the “Medicare Department”. The robocall call states “Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, all Medicare beneficiary and Social Security beneficiary over the age of 65 is entitled to claim $1,200 per individual and $2,800 per married couple, and a 10 percent increase on Social Security monthly benefits, and full coverage on hospitalization and medications. To apply for an increase press 1. To speak with a Medicare representative press 2. Or call us at your earliest convenient time at 1-800-674-3847.”


This call is a SCAM. Do NOT follow the automated voice prompts on the call and do NOT give any personal information to the "Medicare Department" representative.


If you receive this call, please report it to the Federal Trade Commission or by calling 1-877-382-4357. DHSS Website Experiences Cyber Attack


The Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) website was the target of a cyber-attack on May 17, 2021 (see DHSS press release). The DHSS website was taken offline while the investigation is being conducted and will be unavailable to the public until further details are known about the incident. In the interim, the Division of Health Care Services has published a temporary page to provide Alaskans with critical contact information about each of the HCS sections and programs. DHSS thanks you for your patience.

DPA Recipient Virtual Contact Center Now Live

Questions about a benefit application, your eligibility, or Alaska Medicaid eligibility cards?

Alaska Medicaid members may now contact the Division of Public Assistance (DPA) Virtual Contact Center at 800.478.7778 for real-time assistance. Members may remain on the line for a live customer service agent or choose to receive a call back in the order the call was received.
